National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) and the Northwest Immunization Conference

August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM)! Vaccines are a critical component of preventative health.  Whether you are a longtime vaccine advocate or newer to this corner of health and wellness, staying up-to-date with immunization information has never been more important. Protecting ourselves, our families, and our neighbors by building community immunity requires everyone’s participation.  Let’s support each other in August and all year long!

To help highlight and celebrate NIAM 2022, Our friends at Immunize Oregon are hosting the virtual Northwest Immunization Conference (NWIC). NWIC offers a unique opportunity to broaden your vaccine knowledge and improve clinical practices. Each day will offer a variety of immunization-related sessions that contribute to a dynamic and robust curriculum dedicated to improving health equity. Boost Oregon proudly presents three upcoming educational sessions listed below:

  • Building Immunity By Building Community - Tuesday, August 9 at 10am

  • FYI: For Youth Immunization - Wednesday, August 17 at 10am

  • Vaccine Hesitancy & Caregivers: Lessons from Motivational Interviewing - Wednesday, August 17 at 12pm

We already presented “Dealing with Disinformation” on August 3; the recording from that session should be available soon.  Register for the conference as an attendee (it’s free!) to access the recording and attend the live sessions.

We encourage you to learn more about NWIC and attend other upcoming opportunities to learn about vaccines.
